The Saguaro cacti of the Sonoran Desert quickly stole my heart while living in Tucson, Arizona. One of my favorite things about them is that when wounded, the saguaro heals in a way that not only seals itself off from further infection and decay, but also creates a safe space within it for other species, like birds, to rest and abide. What if people healed like that?
